King of Rameshwaram was passing this area when Guru Nanak Dev Ji was living here, horses of the king refused to move. When the king asked his riders to check they told him about Guru Nanak's visit. King met Guru Nanak Dev Ji and was elated, he gifted the land to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and this is where the Gurudwara is today.
