Marginalia is an original gothic concept album by Warden Queen, inspired by the forgotten, condemned, misunderstood, and silenced women of classic literature. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📖 Album: Marginalia 👑 Artist: Warden Queen 🖋️ Genre: Gothic Orchestral • Dark Fantasy • Cinematic Pop • Literary Gothic 🕯️ Format: Original Concept Album 📚 Inspiration: Women of Classic Literature ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📜 THE CHAPTERS OF MARGINALIA 🕯️ PROLOGUE — THE LIBRARY Before the stories begin, there is a place where forgotten names are kept, where silence settles between the pages, and where the women of literature wait to be remembered. 01. The Library ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🥀 ACT I — MADNESS They called her mad when they could no longer understand her. An exploration of confinement, identity, psychological suffering, and the women whose voices were dismissed beneath the weight of society’s expectations. 02. Behind Wallpaper Inspired by The Yellow Wallpaper — Charlotte Perkins Gilman 03. Bell Jar Heart Inspired by The Bell Jar — Sylvia Plath 04. The Woman Upstairs Inspired by Bertha Mason from Jane Eyre — Charlotte Brontë ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🩸 ACT II — BEAUTIFUL MONSTERS They made monsters of the women who refused to remain beautiful in silence. Desire becomes dangerous. Love becomes forbidden. Rage becomes something magnificent. These are the women whose longing, rebellion, and defiance transformed them into the very things society feared. 05. Prayer Without a Saint Inspired by Carmilla — Sheridan Le Fanu 06. Red Lips Inspired by Lucy Westenra from Dracula — Bram Stoker 07. Burn the House Down Inspired by Bertha Mason from Jane Eyre — Charlotte Brontë ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🖋️ INTERLUDE — MARGINALIA Even the smallest words can change the meaning of a story. Somewhere between the printed lines, something begins to stir. A sentence changes. A name returns. And the women begin to write. 08. Marginalia ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕊️ ACT III — ERASED WOMEN Death may claim the body. It cannot always claim the story. Beyond the suffering and destruction lies something neither the authors nor their characters could have imagined. Freedom. Not the absence of sorrow, but the discovery of an existence beyond the ending. 09. Water in Her Lungs Inspired by Ophelia from Hamlet — William Shakespeare 10. The Forgotten Wife Inspired by Bertha Mason from Jane Eyre — Charlotte Brontë 11. Ghosts Don’t Need Mirrors Inspired by The Lady of Shalott — Alfred, Lord Tennyson ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 👑 FINALE — THE LAST CHAPTER They were given endings. They wrote themselves beyond them. The forgotten women have found their voices. The margins are no longer enough. What began as a collection of tragedies becomes something else entirely. A story rewritten by the very women it once confined. 12. Ink-Stained Hands 13.
