What happens when you receive a massive package containing 15 different Indian snacks AND 6 varieties of Indian sweets? In this episode of Singai Tamizhan Recommends, I received a huge food package from SP Muttiah & Sons featuring Town Bus Snacks and GRB Sweets — that's a total of 21 different snacks and sweets! Town Bus is part of GRB's snack portfolio, with the brand focusing on traditional Indian snack recipes and familiar nostalgic flavours. Its wider range includes everything from different mixtures and murukku varieties to peanuts, dal, sev, kodubale and other classic Indian savoury snacks. Obviously, trying 15 packets of snacks in one sitting would be a bit much, so I selected SIX Town Bus snacks to taste for this episode. I tried: Madras Mixture Garlic Mixture Spicy Thenkulal Murukku Rice Kodubale Masala Peanuts Banana Chips There's a really interesting variety here because these aren't six versions of essentially the same snack. You've got the crunchy and spicy Madras Mixture, the stronger flavour profile of Garlic Mixture, traditional South Indian-style murukku, crunchy Rice Kodubale, Masala Peanuts and classic Banana Chips. In fact, Town Bus has a surprisingly extensive range of traditional Indian snacks. Product catalogues for the brand list varieties including Banana Chips, Bombay Mixture, Butter Murukku, Chakli Murukku, Garlic Mixture, Khara Boondi, Rice Kodubale, Kerala Mixture, Madras Mixture, Masala Peanut, Moong Dal, Ribbon Pakoda, Thattai and Thenkuzhal Murukku, among others. So if you're someone who grew up eating Indian mixture, murukku, kodubale, masala peanuts and banana chips, there are plenty of familiar flavours in the Town Bus range. But SP Muttiah & Sons didn't stop with the savoury snacks. They also sent me SIX different varieties of GRB Indian sweets: Kaju Katli Ghee Special Ladoo Doodh Peda Dharwad Peda Motichoor Ladoo Milk Cake Now there was absolutely no way I was going to finish six different boxes of sweets in one tasting! So I picked two to try: Doodh Peda and Kaju Katli. And between the two, my favourite was the Doodh Peda. If you love Indian mithai, you'll probably recognise most of this selection immediately. From Kaju Katli and Doodh Peda to Dharwad Peda, Motichoor Ladoo and Milk Cake, it's essentially a box filled with some of India's most recognisable traditional sweets. The best part for viewers in Singapore is accessibility. According to the information provided to me, Town Bus Snacks and GRB Sweets can be found at many Indian supermarkets and minimarts around Singapore, and they can also be ordered through RedMart for doorstep delivery. So you don't necessarily need to travel around looking for a specialist sweets shop whenever you're craving Indian snacks or mithai. This episode is especially for anyone searching for Town Bus Snacks Singapore, GRB Sweets Singapore, Indian snacks Singapore, Indian sweets Singapore, murukku Singapore, Madras Mixture Singapore, Garlic Mixture, Rice Kodubale, Masala Peanuts, Banana Chips, Kaju Katli Singapore, Doodh Peda Singapore, Indian mithai Singapore, South Indian snacks Singapore or Indian groceries in Singapore. A huge thank you to SP Muttiah & Sons for sending over this massive selection. 21 products. 15 savoury snacks. 6 Indian sweets. But after trying my selection, the question is: Which one would YOU open first? Would you choose Madras Mixture, Garlic Mixture, Spicy Thenkulal Murukku, Rice Kodubale, Masala Peanuts or Banana Chips? Or would you completely ignore the savoury snacks and go straight for the Kaju Katli, Doodh Peda, Dharwad Peda, Motichoor Ladoo, Ghee Special Ladoo or Milk Cake? For me, from the sweets I tasted, Doodh Peda was the winner! Watch the full episode and let me know your favourite Town Bus snack or GRB sweet in the comments.
