HILUX OVERLAND　雨と霧の県境へ。渓谷と滝を巡り、雲海の朝を迎える｜群馬・長野　TOYOTA HILUX × FOUR WHEEL CAMPERS

群馬県と長野県、その県境を巡る旅。 今年の夏は雨の日が続きます。 今回も山には登らず、雨に濡れた渓谷や滝、そして道中で出会った場所をゆっくり巡ります。 最初に訪れたのは、群馬県甘楽郡の蝉の渓谷。 雨に濡れた岩肌と、濃淡の異なる緑に包まれた渓谷。晴れの日とはまた違う、静かで美しい自然の姿がありました。 線ヶ滝へ向かう途中、偶然辿り着いた立岩登山口。 森の奥をひっそりと流れる沢に足を止め、しばらくその景色を眺めます。 そこから徒歩で線ヶ滝へ。 岩壁を真っ直ぐに落ちていく一筋の滝。滝壺まで降りると、間近で見るその姿は想像以上の迫力でした。 山を離れ、キャンプ地のある長野県佐久市へ。 市街地へ向かう途中、鮮やかな朱色の鳥居に惹かれて臼田稲荷神社へ立ち寄ります。 予定していなかった場所との出会いも、旅の楽しみのひとつです。 そして今回のキャンプ地、荒船パノラマキャンプフィールドへ。 到着した頃には辺り一面が霧の中。雨も降り続き、この日はほとんどキャンパーの中で過ごしました。夕食は地元野菜の素焼きと焼肉。 ところが翌朝。 霧の向こうから真っ赤な朝焼けが現れ、やがて目の前には荒船山をはじめとする山々と、一面に広がる雲海。 雨と霧の一日の最後に待っていた、忘れられない朝でした。 SOURIDE ADVENTURE — Journey into the quiet side of Japan. A journey along the border of Gunma and Nagano, Japan. Summer has brought us day after day of rain. Instead of climbing the mountains this time, I set out to explore quiet valleys, waterfalls, forests, and unexpected places along the way. The journey begins at Semi Gorge in Gunma, where rain-covered rocks and countless shades of green create a beautiful landscape. On the way to Sen-ga-taki Falls, I unexpectedly arrive at the Tateiwa trailhead, where a peaceful stream flows quietly through the forest. From there, I continue on foot to Sen-ga-taki Falls. A single stream of water drops almost perfectly straight down the rock face, becoming even more impressive when viewed from below. The journey then crosses into Saku, Nagano. An unexpected red torii gate leads me to Usuda Inari Shrine—one of those unplanned encounters that makes traveling special. Finally, I arrive at Arafune Panorama Camp Field. The entire campground is hidden in thick fog and rain, so most of the evening is spent inside the camper, enjoying locally grown vegetables and grilled meat. But the next morning changes everything. A brilliant red sunrise breaks through the mist, followed by an incredible sea of clouds surrounding the mountains, including Mt. Arafune. After a day of rain and fog, Japan gave me a morning I won't forget.
