Weltkriegs angesiedelt ist, aber er unterscheidet sich von allem, was ihr bisher gesehen habt. Es handelt sich um ein Sandbox-Überlebensspiel mit Mechaniken zur Verwaltung und Führung der Besatzung, dessen Hauptthema das Leben deutscher Seeleute ist. Das Boot ist ihr Zuhause, aber es kann auch jederzeit zu ihrem Grab werden. In UBOAT steuert ihr die Besatzung, die wiederum das Boot steuert. Ihr kümmert euch um ihre körperliche und geistige Gesundheit, denn wenn die Seeleute hungrig, müde oder demotiviert sind, können sie nicht mal ein kleineres Scharmützel für sich entscheiden.
