Mainly focusing on Sarah Siddons as I have already covered the 1938 Tube Stock on last years trip. You'll find videos on the same play list as this....London Underground Heritage Trips. Locations are Amersham, Harrow on the Hill, Chalfont and Latimer and Moor Park. The two sections of view from the train window were taken during the return trip from Harrow on the Hill to Amersham with Sarah Siddons hauling. Thanks to London Transport Museum for promoting and arranging these trips which contribute hugely to preserving the amazing heritage of the London Underground. Sarah Siddons, locomotive No. 12 of the original fleet of 20, and the 1938 Tune Stock were in public passenger service during my childhood/teenage years. Sarah Siddons was built in 1923 and withdrawn from passenger service in 1961/62 but retained for shunting and engineering duties which fortunately lead to her being preserved and restored to full operational order. John Hampden, Locomotive No. 5 is preserved in the London Transport Museum as a static display. Sarah Siddons is the property of Transport for London and generally resides at Ruislip depot. The 1938 Tube Stock is the property of London Transport Museum and resides in the Museum depot at Acton Town. London Underground was a pioneer in so many ways and both Sarah Siddons and the 1938 Tube Stock represented huge advances in railway development and were way ahead of their time. In more recent times contactless card technology owes it development to London Underground who first introduced contactless ticketing/barriers
