In this video we look at the differences of a standard servo with an aftermarket servo upgrade. The kind folks at EuroRC wanted me to test any Halko product I would like, and this servo caught my attention.
In this first work bench test the Halko Turner 1.0WP felt very promising. Well, and yes, of course I will be testing the servo functioning and running! It will definitely be tested for it's strength and durability - since it is operating with a Tamiya High Torque Servo Saver that inevitably will put a fair amount of strain on the servo. You can see the differences for yourself in the video. The list is quite comprehensive ... A servo definitely isn't just a servo. Of course one can go more crazy in terms of torque and servo prices, but this just felt perfect for my 1/10 4WD Tamiya TT-02B speed test project buggy car.
Since I know there are a lot of people believing that speed is everything in a servo choice - I will give my honest and humble opinion here: Speed doesn't matter much compared to a lot of other factors ... at least not for me or the average hobbyist. Of course speed is important for on road race competition and it can definitely matter for extreme bashing and stunt precision.
But personally, I would at any time prefer torque, precision, durability and reliability over speed, which really is a secondary thing for me. With the cars I am running and the way I run them, any speed between 0.10 and 0.20 seconds pretty much feels the same for me. I would love to hear your opinion in the comment section!

important in off road bashers and runners, crawlers and big-tire models

important in race/competition on road models and stunt performance.

better durability/reliability, better heat dissipation

Less friction (better durability/torque/speed)
