SPOTLIGHT: Houston Cougars Star Conner Weigman WOWS Scouts, Pat Overmyer NOT Top NFL Draft Candidate

Houston Cougars’ NFL Draft stock is rising as Conner Weigman dominates headlines with his precision passing and late-game heroics. With 20 touchdowns, only 2 picks, and effectiveness both in the air and on the ground, scouts are asking: could Weigman’s clutch play overcome questions about his frame and throwing mechanics to land him among the top draft risers? Amare Thomas and Pat Overmyer’s playmaking and versatility also spark debate about which offensive weapon is more coveted by NFL teams, while Anthony Boswell and Shadre Hurst anchor a formidable O-line that is finally garnering draft buzz. Brian Lamb of NFL Draft Countdown joins Parker Ainsworth to break down Houston’s prospects, from the unsung trenches to Jalen Mayo’s pro-ready skillset in the secondary. Key topics include grading hotly-contested positions, the challenges faced by ‘tweener’ defenders like Latreveon McCutchin, and why the Cougars could surprise with more NFL-bound talent than in years past. 00:00 — Conner Weigman NFL Draft Stock 06:30 — Houston Offense NFL Prospects 13:46 — Offensive Line and Defense Analysis Become an everydayer!
