When Everything Around You Is Falling Apart : Psalm 46

When everything around you feels uncertain, where do you find something that cannot be shaken? Psalm 46 offers one of Scripture’s most powerful answers: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” In this reflective journey through Psalm 46, we begin by listening to the Psalm in full before exploring it verse by verse and discovering what its ancient words can mean for the fears, pressures and uncertainties we face today. From mountains falling into the sea and nations raging, to the quiet invitation “Be still, and know that I am God,” Psalm 46 reminds us that peace does not always come because the storm disappears. Sometimes peace comes from discovering that we are not alone within it. As you listen, you’ll be invited to reflect on the areas of your own life where you may be experiencing fear, instability or conflict — and to rediscover God as refuge, strength and a steady presence in the middle of it all. Stay until the end for a closing prayer for trust, peace and strength. If this reflection speaks to you, consider subscribing and joining me as we continue exploring the Psalms — not simply as ancient texts, but as wisdom for the lives we are living today.
