Cultivate the Ancient Irish Hedge - Wildlife Friendly Hedging

Today Andrew is taking a tour with Clive Bright, an organic beef farmer based here in Ballymote, Co. Sligo, to learn all about laying hedges and his approach to laying and caring for hedges. He is using a fascinating technique using willow stakes. This ancient sustainable technique involves weaving the stakes together as supports which eventually rot away. Some fantastic hawthorns, holly and wild growth here as the guys show how to prune the hedges and what tools you would need too keep the hedges trimmed.
