Morning in Baduaab, Nostalgia in Angaikot & Turning Back at Checkwali Exploring Untouched Tulail & Abdalun
Waking up in Tulail Valley hits different. After a peaceful night stay at a local homestay in Baduaab and relishing some incredible homemade local food, we fired up the bikes and set out for another raw, unpredictable mountain route.
Our first stop was Angaikot—a breathtaking hamlet tucked away in the valley. I hold a lot of personal memories here, so revisiting this village to relive those moments and share its untouched charm with all of you was truly special.
From there, our goal was to ride all the way up to Kaobal Gali. Moving ahead, we arrived at Checkwali, the final frontier checkpoint. We requested the personnel on duty, offering to leave our motorcycles and all riding gear behind just to walk 50 to 100 meters ahead, but due to strict security protocols, permission couldn't be granted. We had planned to brew a cup of coffee right there, but with the sudden roadblock putting a dampener on things, we decided to drop the coffee plan.
As they say in adventure riding, when one path closes, the mountains open up another. We turned toward a remote village named Abdalun. Given the restricted nature of the area, it felt like we were among the very first motorcyclists to ever ride into this village.
The raw simplicity of Abdalun and the sheer warmth of its people turned our day around. The locals greeted us with open arms, insisting we stay for food and tea. We sat together over hot cups of local tea, shared stories, and experienced hospitality at its purest.
Motorcycle journeys are rarely about reaching the exact pin on the map; they are about these unexpected detours, heartfelt conversations, and the warmth of mountain communities.
