Why Britishers Bombed this ganga ghat heavily || Toota Ghat Bithoor || History of Kanpur || This is last that of bithoor, rather last that of Gangs river of Kanpur district on western end. It's approximately 320 years old. Once it was huge aprx. 500 meters long. Had openings of two big tunnels, which connected palace & fort of peshwas to the river and the ghat. Toota that (then called Peshwa ghat) received heavy shelling from canons of Britishers during freedom war of 1857.
