Machol Within: Christ in Us, Dancing

There is a dance older than movement itself. Miriam lifted her timbrel at the edge of the sea the moment deliverance became irreversible (Exodus 15:20). David danced before the Ark with everything he had, stripped of royal dignity, offered up as worship anyway (2 Samuel 6:14-16). The Psalms name dance as ordained praise (Psalm 149:3, 150:4). Jeremiah promised it back as the very sign that exile was over (Jeremiah 31:4,13). And centuries later, an unborn child leapt in his mother's womb at the sound of a greeting — the first dance ever performed in the presence of the Messiah (Luke 1:41,44). This piece follows that dance as it moves inward — from feet and tambourines into the quiet place where soul and spirit meet. It isn't a song about celebrating with dance. It's a meditation on becoming the place where the dance already lives — Christ within, soul and spirit bound together by the Set Apart Spirit, already turning toward the promised Feast (Revelation 19).
