Heavy rainfall in Chhattisgarh has increased the water level in the Mahanadi, leading to continued water release through 15 gates of Hirakud Dam. Currently, 11 gates on the left side and 4 gates on the right side are open. The Hirakud reservoir water level stands at 629.47 feet. Around 1,54,069 cusecs of water is entering the dam, while 2,97,280 cusecs is being released. Floodwater discharge is also being reported at several locations. Around 3,05,000 cusecs is flowing near Khairmal, 1,95,500 cusecs near Barmul, and 2,96,137 cusecs at Mundali Barrage.
