Bajidor Kahot

Bajidor Kahot Originally written by renowned group SambaSunda from Bandung, Bajidor Kahot is from West Java’s repertoire of jaipongan. Jaipongan combines the most popular West Javanese village style of dance called ketuk tilu with pencak silat, a martial artform. Many listeners consider the music very complex, with dynamic rhythms and an exciting, sensual, unrestrained character. The word jaipongan evokes the sounds of the Sundanese drum (kendang). The relationship between drummer and dancer is one of sensual energy and dynamic interaction.
