The classic German Bundeswehr Flecktarn rucksack is about as old-school as military packs get. Simple, rugged and surprisingly versatile. In this video, I take a closer look at the compartments, carrying system and original design, then load it up with some gear and show you how I use it today. I also added my own simple MOLLE setup, a Zentauron pouch and a few other small upgrades to make the pack work better with modern gear. This isn’t an official Bundeswehr packing guide just a practical look at an German surplus ruck and what you can still do with it today.
