Are Sunday Worshippers Sinning Against God?

Are Christians who worship on Sunday actually sinning against God? The Bible clearly identifies the seventh day as the Sabbath. God blessed and sanctified it, the fourth commandment tells Israel to remember it, and Jesus Himself observed the Sabbath. So does that mean Christians who worship on Sunday are breaking God's commandment? Some Sabbath keeping Christians believe the answer is yes. Some go even further, arguing that worshiping outside God's appointed Sabbath time can affect our obedience, spiritual experience, and relationship with God. But how much of that can actually be established from Scripture? In this Biblical Investigation, we put the claim itself on trial. We examine the seventh day Sabbath, Jesus and the Sabbath, the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15, Paul's teaching in Romans 14, Colossians 2 and Galatians 4, the meaning of sabbatismos in Hebrews 4, the New Covenant, and even claims involving chronos, kairos, sacred time, and God's presence. We also examine an important question that is often overlooked: Is keeping the Sabbath the same biblical question as gathering to worship God on Sunday? And if a Christian sincerely observes Saturday unto the Lord while another Christian gathers on Sunday to celebrate the risen Christ, does Scripture give either believer authority to condemn the other?
