'Far Shores’ is officially yours! Only took me nearly a year to get another song out… I’m leaning into that VU grit, and a little bit of the Stone with this one. Can’t begin to tell you why it has taken soo long to another song out... Yet again, I went back to the drawing board with ‘my sound’, diluted my influences down to a handful, and broke down the essence of the music I want to hear / create. Feel like I have been saying this line every release… But through trial and error, every release has got me closer to shaping the sound I NEED to hear in my songs! I am essentially a music slut… I hear Zeppelin and want to make rock and roll; I hear VU and want to make garage rock; I hear feckin Caravan and want to tickle prog rock… so this is all well and good right up until you want a cohesive, unique sound. So I really had to pinpoint (with surgical precision) just who it is I am as an artist, break down the music that REALLY moves me, and then formulate a blueprint of a sound. I have even written some rules to follow for future releases lest I end up, yet again, changing musical direction of Lola. I guess this is just how artists develop? I hope so ‘cos I put the work in to reach this point! Anyway, I really feel like I have found the missing link to my music, and now intrinsically know the sound I want to hear. I am prying that means I can roll more songs a lot quicker now too! Got back into mixing too, so this one was mixed by myself and mastered by Mark Gardener of ox4sound. Hope you dig it!!!
