Floes | vildwerk. — Dancing For Our Wonderful World, New York Live Arts, December 2025

Floes is a sonic, visual, and kinetic response to climate change, inspired by the vast sheets of ice disappearing in polar regions. Choreographed by Virginie Mécène and performed by Grace Sautter, the work explores themes of formation, collision, breaking, and flow. The score by Judith Shatin incorporates processed underwater recordings of icebergs, while visual artwork by SoHyun Bae draws from close observation of water’s natural forms. Costumes by Kathryn Taylor. Performed as part of Dancing for Our Wonderful World at New York Live Arts (December 17–20, 2025). Dedicated in memory of Michael Kubovy.
