Watch Washington, D.C. grow from tobacco fields on the Potomac to the nation's capital – 236 years in 11 minutes, as a 3D timelapse (no AI imagery).
From L'Enfant's plan of avenues drawn across farmland in 1791 and the first cornerstones, through the burning of the Capitol and White House in 1814, the Tiber Creek canal, a Monument that stood half-built for 25 years and a cast-iron dome rising through the Civil War; the Potomac flats dredged into new land where the Lincoln Memorial now stands, Union Station, the cherry trees of 1912, Federal Triangle and the Pentagon; the March on Washington, Metro, rows of red-brick rowhouses under a skyline kept flat by the 1910 height limit – to the Wharf, the African American Museum and America's 250th birthday on the National Mall in 2026.

🛠️ ABOUT THIS RECONSTRUCTION
Procedural 3D (three.js) on real elevation, rivers and street map; about 160 landmarks modelled by hand with dated phases. Larger buildings use real footprints with lidar heights and recorded construction years; ordinary rowhouses are procedural. Illustrative, not archival: the 1791 shoreline, Tiber Creek, the City Canal, the Potomac and Anacostia flats and the forts are drawn approximately from historical maps.
