Tracy M. Mannon English Language Programs Former English Language Virtual Educator, Teacher Trainer Bio: Tracy M. Mannon received her M.A. in Applied Linguistics/TESL from the University of California at Los Angeles. She has taught English to kindergarteners through graduate students in the U.S., China, and Switzerland, including 22 years with Fairfax County Public Schools, outside Washington, D.C. She has also taught adult education students and English for Specific Purposes at a tech company, where she worked with refugees from Southeast Asia. From 2022 to 2024, she taught Ukrainian university students as a Virtual English Language Educator through English Language Programs, a program of the U.S. Department of State. Exploring an Excellent Resource for Teachers and Teacher Trainers: 60-Second Strategies This practical workshop will show participants, step by step, how to make great use of 60-Second Strategy videos on Edutopia as a teacher trainer (or as a novice or experienced educator looking to learn new strategies to implement in the classroom). Participants will be guided from start to finish using one of the strategy videos to experience how it can be used in teacher training classes. There will be time for short discussions with peers and participant questions. Participants who complete a short Google Form afterward will receive a slide deck of 10 video strategies that are ready to use in the classroom, along with additional discussion questions to guide trainers/teachers/students as they reflect on the strategies. Come learn how to use this wonderful, free resource! My mentee, Svitlana Terekh, will create a short video, which I will include in my presentation on the 21st.
