MERCY MEETS ME HERE — A Prayer from Psalm 13
“How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?”
— Psalm 13:1 KJV
David begins Psalm 13 with a question:
How long, O Lord?
He doesn't hide the ache. He brings it to God.
But somewhere between the question and the end of the Psalm, something changes. David remembers what his circumstances have caused him to forget:
“But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.”
The situation may not have changed yet.
But the heart has turned toward the One who has never left.
Mercy Meets Me Here is a prayer for that place—the place between the question and the answer, between the night and the morning, where we discover that God is present even here.
When I have words, I will pray.
When I have only tears, He understands.
And when I cannot yet see the morning, I will trust His mercy.
“I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.” — Psalm 13:6 KJV
Soli Deo Gloria.
