What does it mean to truly belong? In this message rooted in Ephesians 2:11-22, we explore one of the most radical claims of the Christian faith: that the blood of Jesus tears down every wall that has ever divided humanity. Paul writes to a church made up of people who were once on opposite sides of a deep and ancient hostility, and he tells them they are now one. Not just tolerating each other, not just coexisting, but genuinely one new humanity in Christ. The passage takes us back to a world where the division between Jewish people and Gentiles was not merely cultural or political, but written into law, carved into stone, and enforced with the threat of death. And yet into that hostility steps Jesus, described not merely as a peacemaker but as peace itself. The spiritual lesson here is profound: peace with God and peace with one another are not two separate gifts. They arrive together, through the same sacrifice, by the same blood. For us today, this raises a searching question about how we relate to the people around us, especially those who are different from us. Are we still living with arms stiff-armed outward, or have we allowed the gospel to bend our arms inward, drawing others close?
