Police Idol proudly introduces Mr. Chandan Lomjel, a respected musician and composer from Darjeeling whose soulful contributions to Nepali music span over nineteen years. His work includes celebrated songs such as Mera Sabai Raat Aba Maat Haru Bhaye, rendered by the legendary Narayan Gopal, and Bhikhari Hun Ma, performed by his wife, singer Daisy Baraily. Chandan Lomjel’s music has also left its mark on Nepali cinema, most notably in the 2017 film Darpan Chhaya 2, featuring the popular song Aakashaima Khuleko Jun. A dedicated participant of Paleti since 2006, he also took part in its 2025 revival, performing alongside Daisy Baraily and their daughter Bimochana Lomjel, paying tribute to poet Norden Rumba. More than a composer, Chandan Lomjel stands as a cultural ambassador carrying Darjeeling’s musical heritage forward through collaboration, family, and timeless melodies.
