9-12-26 Morning Chaitanya Charitamrita reading (Madhya-lila 16.1-68)

Chapter 16 of the Madhya-lila describes how Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu wanted to go to Vrindaban, but because of Ramananda Ray's tricks, Mahaprabhu's departure was delayed. (Ramananda Ray and Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya were fearful of separation from the Lord). After some years of delay, the Lord left Puri, and traveled through Orissa, during which time He embraced Maharaj Prataparudra and bid farewell also to Gadadhar Pandit. In Bengal, great numbers of people came to have Mahaprabhu's darshan. Mahaprabhu traveled as far as Ramakeli, the seat of the Muslim king, and there met with Srila Rupa and Sanatan Goswamis. Finally, Mahaprabhu returned to Nilachala (Puri), without having been able on this trip to reach Vrindaban.
