The Bald Eagle: Ruler of North America's Skies

The bald eagle — America's national bird, and the ruler of North America's skies — can spot a fish from over a mile away. But its eyesight is only the beginning. In this video: eyes four times sharper than yours, wings nearly seven feet across, dives at 100 miles an hour, nests heavier than a small car, a cousin in the golden eagle, and one of conservation's greatest comebacks — from fewer than 500 nesting pairs in 1963 to more than 70,000 today.
