Chiva Falls Loop, 4x4 Trail, Tucson Arizona

We ran Charouleau Gap on Saturday and this iconic trail on Sunday. I had never run the 4405 Mesa De La Osa loop completely and with our group being so small, it seemed like the perfect time to go for it. The trail has it's challenges before you even get to the trails namesake, Chiva Falls. After having lunch at the barely trickling waterfall, we continued up 4405 and down to the beautiful Tanque Verde Canyon. This section has some small ledges and a loose descent but nothing too difficult going down or coming out the other side. Be sure to know the weather conditions before dropping down into this main wash for the region.
