Equinox Inspired MOV

Welp… I went ahead and did it. I stepped in front of *the camera.* 📸 I’m a lifelong Stitcher, Creator, and Artist, and I’ve made some pieces I’m really proud of, these wonderful pieces have lived quietly in my world. It felt like time to let a few of them wander out into the light. I collect, repurpose, and reuse hand-crocheted and tatted lace, weaving these beautiful remnants of the ancestors into my garments wherever they belong. The yellow overdress has three crows carved from a hand-sewn tablecloth. I saw Anu, Macha, and Badb waiting in that cloth. The blue overdress has needlepoint pocket patches and tiny crocheted accents on the bodice. Bodices created by an indie designer on Etsy (link below); the skirt is my own design—ruffles and all. 🙂 The underdress has eight handmade pieces encircling the skirt. As I stitched them into place, my mind kept returning to the Wheel of the Year, how it circles us, moving through seasons, cycles, endings, beginnings, darkness, light, death, and renewal.Indie designers pattern, (link below) And Oh, the coat!!! Cutting it from a repurposed quilt and wrestling all that bulk through my machine was definitely an adventure. But the result was SO worth it. This fabulous design was created by another indie designer on Etsy (link below), with my own little modifications too. And now I get to take the whole ensemble out for its first proper adventure this weekend. We’ll gather as a community, share ideas and new paths forward, eat good food, and begin building a relationship with a new companion for future scrying quests. We take scraps, threads, forgotten things, old patterns, strange ideas, and pieces of ourselves…and stitch them together until something entirely new emerges. Maybe that is what I have been doing all along. ✨Making a life from the pieces.✨ The Artist has entered the photographic realm. May the odds be ever in her favor.
