Don't Open the Door Tonight, Kid. | Dark Jazz Noir for Halloween Night

Dark jazz noir for Halloween night — two hours of slow detective jazz in a 1940s office on October 31st: rain on the window, a green desk lamp, a jack-o'-lantern glowing on the desk, and somebody standing on the other side of the frosted glass. Put it on for a rainy night, to unwind, read or work late. October 31st, quarter to midnight. Somebody's been standing in the hallway for ten minutes. Hasn't knocked yet. The mask behind the frosted glass hasn't moved since the elevator stopped. He's got one hand flat on the desk and the other one where you can't see it. Stay in your chair, kid. Whoever wears a mask to a detective's door on Halloween isn't here for candy. Let them knock. Let the rain do the talking. We'll open it when the music's done. 🎷 Tracklist 00:00 Case File on the Desk 03:58 Confession Over Whiskey 07:58 Redeemed Too Late 11:58 Falling Leaves on the Windshield 15:57 Midnight Diner Counter 19:57 Closing Time at the Bar 23:57 The Bribe at the Racetrack 27:56 Newsstand at Dawn 31:56 The Harbor Fog 35:56 The Locksmith's Favor 39:56 The City Never Sleeps 43:55 Chinatown Back Room 47:55 Windbreaker in the Rain 51:54 The Informant's Payoff 55:54 The Judge's Study 59:54 Backroom Poker Game 01:03:54 Fire Escape Stakeout 01:07:54 The Pawnshop Lead 01:11:53 Midnight Ferry Crossing 01:15:53 Static on the Radio 01:19:53 The Smugglers' Signal 01:23:53 Ticking Clocks in the Dark 01:27:52 Cargo Manifest by Flashlight 01:31:52 Bonfire Smoke on Mulberry Street 01:35:52 Filing the Report 01:39:51 Rooftop Chase 01:43:51 Tide Going Out 01:47:51 Bandaged and Bruised 01:51:50 Payphone at Midnight 01:55:50 Back Alley Handoff 01:59:50 Subway Platform Shadow #darkjazznoir #noirjazz #halloweenjazz #darkjazz #halloween
