Do We Even Need The Batman 2 Anymore? + Primetime Review | Absolutely #9

Robert Pattinson plays Chris Hansen in A24’s Primetime—and we were uncomfortable the entire time. Hassan Khadair and Skootish review Primetime, debate The Batman Part II production pause, and revisit the backlash to John Stewart’s Green Lantern oath in the Lanterns finale. In Episode 9 of the Absolutely Podcast, we break down Pattinson’s performance, Skyler Gisondo’s Decoy Dan, Phoebe Bridgers, and the movie’s portrayal of To Catch a Predator. Where does exposing predators turn into entertainment—and what does the film say about the people behind the cameras? We also argue about Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, call Cecily into our Penelope debate, discuss Matt Reeves and the DCU’s Batman, and try to understand why Skootish hates Halloween. Plus: Mike Flanagan, Clayface, horror movies, and Hassan’s ongoing feud with the AMC app. Spoilers for Primetime, The Odyssey, and the Lanterns finale.
