Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has vowed not to leave Sindh without holding the planned PTI rally in Karachi, as his convoy continues its journey toward the provincial capital amid roadblocks, heavy traffic disruption and repeated obstacles along the route. Sohail Afridi, accompanied by PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar, has been leading a five-day public mobilisation campaign across Sindh ahead of the party’s planned nationwide protest on September 27. The campaign is linked to PTI’s demand for the release of party founder Imran Khan and immediate medical treatment for him at Shifa International Hospital. As the PTI convoy travelled from Hyderabad toward Karachi, multiple points along the route reportedly faced blocked roads and traffic congestion, creating major difficulties for the convoy and PTI workers trying to reach the city. Despite the obstacles, PTI workers reportedly opened a toll plaza and removed barriers to clear the way for the convoy, allowing the journey toward Karachi to continue. Speaking to reporters while travelling to Karachi, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi made it clear that he would remain in Sindh until the PTI gathering is held in Karachi. Afridi said that if the convoy could not reach Karachi on Sunday, the rally would be held the next day or the day after. He stated that he would not leave Sindh until the objective of launching a street movement in Karachi was achieved. The KP chief minister also responded to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s earlier comments welcoming the PTI delegation on social media. Afridi questioned why the PTI convoy was facing roadblocks and restrictions on the ground despite what he described as a different message being conveyed publicly. Afridi challenged Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to identify those responsible for putting up roadblocks if the Sindh government and police were not behind the restrictions. He argued that the people of Sindh would question the provincial leadership over the situation. The developing situation has created a major political showdown as the PTI convoy attempts to enter Karachi, with supporters facing blocked routes, traffic jams and barriers while the KP chief minister insists that the rally will take place. Will Sohail Afridi reach Karachi tonight? Will the PTI rally go ahead despite the roadblocks and restrictions? What happened at the toll plaza, and how did PTI workers clear the barriers? And what will be the political impact of the PTI’s mobilisation campaign in Sindh?
