Nicole performs Raqs Sharqi / Egyptian dance to Akdib Aleik by Warda at Ramzi Edlibi's winter party

I performed to one of my favorite songs - Akdib aleik ( I lie to you) by the songstress Warda. The show took place at Ramzi El Edlibi's holiday party for his SWANA folkdance class- NY, NY, Winter 2025. What made this show especially fun was the audience at Ramzi's gathering. A number of people stopped by the show after their Arabic chorus class and sang along enthusiastically. Of course this is normal for any Arabic speaking audience! One of the reasons why I love dancing to well known songs with audiences of Arabic speakers- both the audience and the dancers enjoy the music and poetry of the songs together.
