Micha Boyett is an author, youth pastor, podcaster, and Down syndrome advocate whose work invites people into a slower, more attentive, and more grace-filled way of life. With a background in poetry and a voice shaped by motherhood, disability advocacy, and spiritual reflection, Micha writes about rest, limits, ableism, and the deep belovedness of every human being. She is the author of Blessed Are the Rest of Us, a moving exploration of how her youngest son’s disabilities helped her confront the culture of achievement and discover a fuller vision of wholeness and flourishing in Jesus. In this episode of Created In The Image of God, Micha joins Wade for a thoughtful conversation about slowness, vulnerability, disability, and the ways love resists efficiency. Drawing also from her forthcoming book Advent Unhurried and her Substack The Slow Way, she reflects on how much of modern life trains us to measure worth by output, speed, and performance—and how the way of Jesus keeps calling us somewhere gentler, truer, and more human. This is a conversation about belovedness, limits, sorrow, joy, and the holy work of learning to receive life as gift rather than as something to conquer.
