Outdoor Recreation All-Candidates Meeting 2026 - Squamish, BC

The Outdoor Recreation All-Candidates Meeting brought together local mayoral and council candidates to discuss the future of trails, access, and recreation policy in Squamish. Hosted by SORCA and facilitated by Jeff Cooke, the event gave candidates a chance to outline their priorities regarding stewardship, infrastructure, tourism balance, and municipal support for outdoor recreation groups. Part one of the evening featured timed opening statements from each candidate addressing the following prompt: "Where does support for outdoor recreation fit within your policy priorities? And what specific steps or actions have you taken or will you take to demonstrate that support over the next two years?"
