Some sins don't look serious when we describe them the right way.
“We're just talking.” “It's only a prayer request.” “I was just joking.”
Sometimes those explanations are completely sincere. But other times, they help us excuse behavior we already know is hurting someone—or avoid examining what's happening in our own hearts.
In this video, we examine seven everyday habits Christians can learn to justify, from leading someone on for attention to gossip, cruel jokes, small lies, envy, bitterness, and spiritual pride. Each one raises a question worth examining in light of Scripture: are we being honest about how we're treating others and why we're doing it?
📖 In this video, you'll learn:
*Leading someone on:* Why deliberately keeping someone emotionally invested for attention conflicts with honesty and consideration for others
*Gossip disguised as prayer:* How to distinguish a genuine need for help from unnecessary disclosure of someone else's private struggles
*Cruel humor:* Why calling something a joke doesn't automatically excuse humiliation, deception, or harmful speech
*Little lies:* Why everyday dishonesty matters—and why telling the truth doesn't require surrendering your privacy
*Envy:* The difference between experiencing disappointment and deliberately cultivating resentment toward someone else's good fortune
*Bitterness:* Why forgiveness matters without requiring immediate trust, reconciliation, or remaining in an unsafe situation
*Spiritual pride:* How someone can correct a genuine biblical error while becoming contemptuous toward the person being corrected

Which of these excuses do you think Christians find easiest to overlook? Share your thoughts respectfully in the comments without naming anyone or disclosing private situations.
