Knitting tutorial demonstrating the steps to graft a mobius cowl (or infinity cowl) with clear steps and instructions. This technique is used in my new design, Forever You Cowl. The sample in this video is knit in Brooklyn Tweed Tone in six colors, but the original is knit in Hudson + West Co Forge using three colors.
Grafting Steps:
Step 1 - Pick up live stitches at the tube's end on one set of needles and pick up the stitches from the provisional cast on, making sure both sets of needles are facing the same direction.
Step 2 - Twist so needles are facing in opposite directions.
Step 3 - Slip half the stitches on provisional cast on end so that both sets of needles are again facing the same direction.
Step 4 - Graft together using the Kitchener stitch.
Kitchener Stitch:
Setup: Insert tapestry needle purlwise into the first st on the front needle (FN) leaving the st on the needle. Then insert tapestry needle knitwise into the first st on the back needle (BN) leaving the st on the needle.
Step 1 - Insert tapestry needle into the first st on FN knitwise pulling off, then purlwise into the second st on the FN leaving st on the needle.
Step 2 - Insert tapestry needle into the first st on BN purlwise pulling off, then knitwse into the second st on the BN leaving st on the needle.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all sts are worked, sew ends to clean up finish and weave in ends.
