Match Details Detail Information Fixture Butambala FC vs Gomba FC Competition Buganda Masaza Cup 2026 – Semi-Final (Second Leg) Venue Kibibi SS Grounds, Butambala Date Sunday, October 4, 2026 First Leg Result Gomba 2-0 Butambala Match Preview Gomba Lions arrive at Kibibi SS with a commanding 2-0 aggregate lead following their first-leg victory at Kabulasoke PTC Grounds. Muhammed Kasule struck twice in the first half, including a 12th-minute penalty, to put the five-time champions firmly in control of the tie. For Butambala, the task is clear but daunting: they must win by at least three clear goals to overturn the deficit and reach their first-ever Masaza Cup final. A two-goal victory would force the tie into extra time and potentially penalties, while Gomba will advance with a draw or a narrow defeat. Butambala coach Eddie Ssenkaali remains optimistic, drawing confidence from the closeness of previous meetings between the two sides. Both encounters in 2022 ended in 1-1 draws, suggesting Butambala are capable of competing with their more decorated neighbours. Gomba, meanwhile, are chasing a record-extending sixth Masaza Cup title. The Lions remain the only semi-finalist with prior championship pedigree, having last reached the final in 2023. #BugandaMasazaCup #MasazaCup2026 #ButambalaVsGomba #GombaLions #ButambalaFC #KibibiSS #SemiFinal #SecondLeg #BugandaKingdom
