Auroville - Join a Community & get FREE Stay Food - Pondicherry Tamil Nadu

For me #Auroville is not a Tourist place but an experience. When we reached Auroville, we were clueless about how things work here & it took us more than a week to figure out what to do & whom to approach. This video is made to answer all those questions & for people like us who were struggling to understand Auroville. So we took a flight to Chennai & then hired a cab who drove for 3 hours via the costal road. (cab details mentioned below) If you are coming to Auroville as a tourist, I recommend you to stay in Time Traveler as it offers a wide range of staying options & it is right opposite the #MatriMandir parking, which makes Auroville very accessible. Rent a scotty for INR 300 (ph no mentioned below) & head to Matri Mandir parking area. From there you can visit the tourist areas of Auroville, get pictures clicked from a distance of Matrimandir , do some shopping of clothes , ornaments , cute home decors , plants & many more. Fill yourself up with some organic vegan food at the cute cafes inside Auroville. But that is not the real Auroville. Auroville is a place where you get to discover who you really are & what are you best at. It provides the environment where you forget everything about the outer world & focus all your energy in finding the skill that you are gifted with. Auroville has more than 80 communities which deals in different sectors. You can check the list below, google them & whichever field you want to work in, choose a community accordingly. The community that you work in, will help you with accommodation & food. You can volunteer in one community only for a few hours so you would be working in different shifts in different places in a day so that life doesn't get monotonous. Even if you don't have a particular skill, you can still join the community where in they will teach you before asking you to start working with them. If you are looking to find a hidden talent in you or you want to improve on an existing skill or just want to gain knowledge & experience in any sector, you can do that in Auroville for free. Initially, book a room in a place that is run by Auroville community (list mentioned below) so that you get an Auro card which will be a license to roam around in the city. Every community offers 1 free session in a week. Try to attend all such events so that you can figure out which communities you want to work with.
