RASTAN - 128K (ZX SPECTRUM - FULL GAME)

Zeus presents Rastan (un-emulated) for the zx spectrum, true classic from the golden era of spectrum gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game. Year of release: 1988 Here we have the 4th part of my Rastan marathon, a complete longplay of the 128k Spectrum version which up until now has not been shown on Youtube and that is mainly down to a couple of bugs which would normally not allow you to progress through the game,...but on to that in a minute. First of all Rastan himself is jacked up in this, very large sprite, drawn well, moves fast and responds good to movements. The 128k music is a very good rendition of the original arcade but sadly misses the second part of the tune by instead just looping over several times. Graphically the levels and characters are very nice with fast scrolling but some area's such as the patterned walls in the castle stages can be a little sore on the eyes,...reminds me of the scrolling pod "SC" you can pick up in Arkanoid II on the same machine. Now on to the bugs, there are 2 area's where the game is simply not passable and the only way to cure these problems is to insert several magical pokes strategically placed at these 2 certain places of the game. The reason the game crashes without them is because once you complete these certain two stages, the game actually looks for the next level to play but instead tries to load the wrong stages forcing the Spectrum to crash and this happens without fail unless the magical pokes are inserted. The other issue is after finishing one of the inner castle stages, the games fails to send you to the level boss making it immpossible to progress, again magical pokes inserted cured the problem. So after all this I am proud to finally produce the first ever longplay of the 128k spectrum version of Rastan. I hope all you Spectrum fans enjoy this upload. Please note: NONE of my game uploads are emulated in any way whatsoever, they are 100% original recordings by myself taken directly from the original hardware the game was intended for, that way you know you're watching the real thing.
