Tarantella (2 solos - John Clifford)

I wasn't scheduled to dance this, (Villella was), and I had never performed it with the company, and only on some of my run-out concerts with Gelsey Kirkland and sometimes Sara Leland. I had been flat on my back for a week with the flu at a friend's house, when I received a telegram when I got back to my place, saying I had to fly to Toronto immediately to film this at 9:00 the next morning!!! Near the end something went wrong with the camera, so the director said, "OK. Once more from the top." Seriously thought I was gonna die. Mr. B said to mark it up until the camera broke, so I kinda did. This second solo I'm really taking it easy, but it's still not too terrible I think. Looking at it now I marvel at how fast we did it (also on the concrete TV studio floor). The linoleum was laid straight over cement in those days. Sprung floors didn't come in until later...dammit!
