This collection brings together traditional Sanskrit prayers, sacred invocations and devotional chants dedicated to Maa Lakshmi. Each mantra has been thoughtfully included to create a gradual spiritual journey — beginning with the removal of obstacles, moving towards the invocation of divine grace, and ending with prayers for peace and harmony. The Significance of Each Mantras: 1. Ganesh Mantra – ॐ गं गणपतये नमः॥ The collection begins with an invocation to Lord Ganesha, who is traditionally worshipped before auspicious beginnings. This mantra seeks his blessings for the removal of obstacles and a smooth, positive beginning to the devotional experience. 2. Mahalakshmi Beej Mantra – ॐ श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः॥ The sacred syllable Shreem is traditionally associated with Maa Lakshmi and auspicious abundance. This mantra is a direct salutation to the Goddess, invoking her blessings for prosperity, harmony and well-being. Its repetition creates a peaceful devotional focus. 3. Mahalakshmi Namavali – ॐ महालक्ष्म्यै नमो नमः॥ This chant praises Maa Mahalakshmi through different names and attributes: महालक्ष्म्यै – Salutations to Mahalakshmi, the supreme form of auspiciousness. विष्णुप्रियायै – Salutations to the beloved consort of Lord Vishnu. धनप्रदायै – Salutations to the bestower of wealth and prosperity. विश्वजनन्यै – Salutations to the divine mother of the universe. These names celebrate different aspects of the Goddess and offer a devotional expression of reverence, gratitude and surrender. 4. Kamala Mahalakshmi Mantra – ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद। ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः॥ This traditional invocation addresses Maa Lakshmi as Kamala, the Goddess associated with the lotus. The words प्रसीद प्रसीद are a humble prayer asking the Goddess to be gracious and bestow her blessings. The mantra combines sacred seed syllables with a direct prayer to Mahalakshmi, seeking her grace, prosperity and auspiciousness. 5. Lakshmi Gayatri Mantra – ॐ महालक्ष्म्यै च विद्महे। विष्णुपत्न्यै च धीमहि। तन्नो लक्ष्मीः प्रचोदयात्॥ The Gayatri form is a prayer for divine wisdom, understanding and spiritual illumination. It expresses the wish to understand and meditate upon Mahalakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu, and asks her to inspire and guide our intellect towards the light of wisdom. 6. Shri Mahalakshmi Ashtakam – नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते... The Shri Mahalakshmi Ashtakam is a traditional Sanskrit hymn consisting of eight verses dedicated to Maa Mahalakshmi. Each verse praises a different aspect of the Goddess — her divine power, wisdom, compassion, protection, and role as the mother of the universe. 7. Lakshmi Stuti – या देवी सर्वभूतेषु लक्ष्मीरूपेण संस्थिता... This verse from the Devi Mahatmya recognises the Goddess as the form of Lakshmi residing in all living beings. Its repeated salutation expresses gratitude to the divine feminine presence that manifests as abundance, nourishment and auspiciousness throughout creation. 8. Final Mahalakshmi Chant – ॐ श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः॥ The collection returns to the Mahalakshmi Beej Mantra, bringing the devotional journey back to its central invocation. Its gentle repetition allows the prayer to settle into a moment of reflection, gratitude and devotion. 9. Shanti Mantra – ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः॥ The collection concludes with three recitations of Shanti, meaning peace. Traditionally, the threefold invocation is associated with peace from disturbances arising within oneself, from the surrounding world, and from forces beyond one's control.
