After years riding flat pedals, I switched to clipless and a year later, would I go back? I’ve spent the last year riding the Crankbrothers Mallet E Long Spindle pedals with Mallet Lace shoes on local trails, at bike parks and in races. In this video, I share what changed, what didn’t, and whether I’d make the switch again. From learning to clip in and out to rough terrain, climbing, jumps and the classic embarrassing car park fall, this is my experience of going from flats to clips. I also talk about what happened in the crash where I broke my collarbone, and how the pedals and shoes have held up after a year. My setup: • Pedals: Crankbrothers Mallet E Long Spindle — silver/black • Shoes: Crankbrothers Mallet Lace — black/red • Previous pedals: Race Face Chester flats Thinking about trying clips?
