Camino Frances 2025 - Day 1 St Jean Pied de Port to Borda

Conquering what some call the most challenging part of the Camino Frances. 600 meters (approx. 2000 feet) of elevation in approximately 8.5 km. We started around 9:00 from SJPDP, enjoying meeting new pilgrims along The Way. The heavy mist and fog may have dampened our clothing, packs and bodies, but certainly not our spirits. It was a joyful day. It was, at first, a bit disappointing to not be able to enjoy the famous outdoor patio, but the buzz and excitement of the busy interior dining room meant sharing tables was a must. We met Mary Beth who was also staying at Borda. Borda is a must say Albergue!! Buen Camino
