This highway runs across the southern Mojave Desert and the northern Colorado Desert, passing along the north side of Joshua Tree National Park. It goes from I-10 near Whitewater to the Arizona state line near Parker, AZ. Much of the highway is incredibly remote, and there are almost no services east of Twentynine Palms.
