“Hear Me Now” is for anyone who has ever tried to explain how they feel, only to be told they’re overreacting, being dramatic, complaining, or making something bigger than it is. This song came from the frustration of feeling like my emotions weren’t being validated. Sometimes I don’t need someone to fix the problem. I don’t even need them to agree with me. I just need them to listen long enough to understand that what I’m feeling is real. And after being dismissed enough times, that hurt turns into anger. “Hear Me Now” is that anger. It’s the moment you stop shrinking your feelings to make everyone else comfortable. It’s realizing that expressing hurt isn’t the same thing as complaining. It’s finally saying, “You don’t get to decide whether what hurt me was allowed to hurt.” The spoken outro is probably the heart of this entire song for me: I’m not asking you to fix everything. I’m not asking you to agree with every word I say. I’m asking you to respect the fact that I feel it. To my Nightblooms who have ever felt unheard, dismissed, or like you had to stay quiet just to keep the peace—this one is for you. Your feelings deserve room to exist. Your voice deserves room to exist. Sometimes you just need somebody to finally— HEAR YOU NOW. — Bella Noir
