Making a Leather Server's Book For a Waiter or Waitress Leather is a great material because you can make many things out of it - not just wallets and bags! This is a fairly simple DIY project that can be made with just a few hand tools. This server's book is designed for waiters and waitresses to take orders, carry credit cards, and give out checks to customers. We make it with natural vegetable tanned leather and it is hand sewn with a saddle stitch. The design of this server's book includes a 4oz leather stiffener in between the layers of the book body. This is done so that the waiter or waitress can have a sturdy writing surface for taking orders - we also included a leather pen loop that we saddle stitched into the seam of the book. this leather server's book will patina to a nice dark brown color over time and will wear in beautifully, it will be a welcome addition to a server's apron and look great doing it's job!
