#jacmel #haiti #travel #vlog I came to Macary with coffee as my main focus, but being here has shown me how many different pieces of a community are connected. In this episode, I continue working on the coffee nursery—and take some time to enjoy Haitian food, including lobster and fritay—but I also step away from the nursery to help with something that affects the entire area: water. I joined people in the community working to connect a water line from one source to another, helping expand access to water and irrigation in the zone. I also visited the sewing school supported by Vertières Entrance, where I finally had the opportunity to sit down face-to-face with the students, hear what they need, and discuss what we can realistically do to improve the school. The space is still under construction, and there is plenty of work ahead. Coffee brought me here, but building in Macary is showing me a much bigger picture.
