We decided to take the Kanyakumari Express from Bangalore to Chengannur, a comfortable and affordable journey under Rs. 500 when booked in advance. From Chengannur, we took a KSRTC bus to Erumeli (Rs. 120), where we completed the Pettai Thullal custom, then continued to Pampa. After a refreshing bath in the holy Pampa river, we began our trek and had a peaceful darshan with fewer crowds. We stayed overnight in a Viri for just Rs. 50, with basic but comfortable facilities and mobile charging.
