An Introduction to my work in Extrusion moulding and the shop itself.

I am currently settling into my new job at a large family owned extrusion shop, Big thanks to my manager, Jake, for letting me to make videos of non-proprietary stuff in my spare time, so I will have more to follow!. The extruder I installed had a Crosshead on it that was used for making various sizes of HDPE tubing, up to 16mm, and run by operators 24/7. I have modded it to run a straight line setup automatically with minimal operator interaction, and automatic cutouts if something should go wrong. I generally copied the existing setups, but also took into account improvements that they wanted made to the system, like in tank water sprayers. The whole setup runs happily off a 20a 415v 3 phase feed, but would probably be drawing less than 15A given the low speed of the unit.
