Why does turning 35 feel like an invisible barrier in China’s job market?​ In this video, I take a closer look at the reality facing many Chinese job seekers over 35. From age requirements on job listings to growing competition, weaker consumer demand, the property downturn, fewer white-collar opportunities, and the impact of AI and automation, there are many reasons why finding a stable job has become increasingly difficult.​ But is age really the problem? Or is it part of a much bigger change happening in China’s job market?​ I’ll share what I’ve seen from real job listings and my own perspective on what it feels like to look for work in China today.​ And despite all these challenges, I still believe that difficult times don't mean the end of our future. Sometimes, we just need to prepare ourselves for the next opportunity.
